Gendering Conflict and Post-Conflict Terrains: New Challenges and Opportunities
will be held on May 18-19, 2012, at the University of Minnesota. The conference, organized by Professor Fionnuala Ní Aoláin and sponsored by the Robina Foundation, will examine contemporary challenges that emerge for women in conflict and post-conflict settings. Among the topics are: the relevance of methodologies to assess women's experiences of harm, legal accountability for gendered harms in armed conflict, and enforcing international legal norms. To date, 33 experts from the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Switzerland have confirmed their participation.
