Tara is a Researcher with the HSRP. She analyzes various datasets used by the HSRP; she also conducts research and writes content for the Human Security Reports.
In 2010, Tara moved to part time work at the HSRP to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Policy at Simon Fraser University. She is currently completing her capstone project on policy guidelines for decisions surrounding military interventions (or the lack thereof) in civil wars. Tara is also interested in various aspects of poverty and development, particularly in Africa.
Prior to joining the HSRP, Tara worked as a Research Assistant for various professors at the University of British Columbia, while completing her Honours Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations. In 2006, Tara helped found an NGO focused on supporting African diaspora members’ efforts to promote peace in Africa. More recently, she co-directed a project that raised funds to support students and graduates of Kekeli Neva School for the Blind in Togo.
